One of the things I have been guilty of is that of complacency. Let me put it this way, its the difference between “lukewarm” and “on fire”. Just because I am not guilty of commission, does not mean I am guiltless of omission. Enough of passive Christian existence. I have to be active. The Lord has been dealing with me about this more and more in the past few weeks, and I must admit its been quite a battle with my flesh to get up and start actively pursuing God.

As Charles Spurgeon rightly puts it, “Perhaps some of you can claim a sort of negative purity, because you do not walk in the way of the ungodly; but let me ask you — is your delight in the law of God? Do you study God’s Word? Do you make it the man of your right hand, your best companion and hourly guide? If not, the blessing of Psalm 1 does not belong to you.”
